Ultrasound Pics

So we got the ultrasound on Tuesday, and found out we are having a boy! Big surprise, as my dream already told us what we were having. In my silliness, I bet Imran a week's worth of dinner making that it would be a girl. I can't believe I bet against my penis dream. Now I am stuck making dinner for a week. You'd think he'd feel sorry for my pregnant ass and let me off the hook, but no such luck. We take our bets very seriously in our house.

It was the first ultrasound for us, so it was really exciting and surreal to actually see the baby in there. I swear I feel like I am in a science fiction movie. Pregnancy has always seemed so extra-ordinary to me, despite the fact that it happens to all mammals. I don't think the novelty of growing a human will ever wear off.

He was super active in there, and even had the hiccups! We could see his little chest move every time he hiccuped. Imran offered to scare me so that maybe that would cure them. I wonder if hiccups annoy the baby as much as they annoy me? I hate the hiccups almost as much as I hate sneezing.

Some more good news, my midwife called the next day to say that everything looked really good and the baby looks super healthy. It's good to know that all this nausea hasn't been for nothing!

They probably are even less clear to you guys than us because I had to take a picture of them instead of actually scanning them. Oh well. One is his leg and foot, the second is his arm - his hand is at his mouth. I wonder if he is sucking his thumb....The third is his profile.
