I am convinced that there is some evil plot going on where New Seasons tricks you into spending double what you think you should be. Ever since moving to Sellwood, we have been doing our shopping at New Seasons since it is just across the street. I haven't crunched numbers, but I am pretty sure we spend almost double what we used to spend at the Co-op in our old neighborhood.
So I decided to try getting our veggies from Organics To You on a weekly basis. Not only are the veggies organic and as locally sourced as possible, but the variety is much better than what I buy on my own (sometimes it takes a box showing up on your doorstep full of unknown veggies to get you to experiment with your diet). Also I figured it might be nice to have groceries delivered to our house when the baby is here, you can order stuff besides just veggies from them too.
This week was full of experimental dishes I had never tried before, like delicatta squash stuffed with kale and white beans, root vegetable gratin, and sweet and sour cabbage with mashed potatoes. Still on the list of things to make: parsnip cakes and steamed beets with feta. We are also eating more fruit than usual and realized that kiwis are tasty.
I should have taken pictures of all our new meals, but I only decided to blog about it today. Maybe next week:) You'll have to settle for the most recent preggo picture of me - I know Imran posted this on Facebook but for archival purposes I am re-posting it here.

You're eating fruit! :)
